Team Kenya 2010

13 students from Yate International Academy are to get an incredible and enviable opportunity to visit Spurgeons Academy in Nairobi to teach 7 to 12 Year olds. The 10 day visit will include running a five day workshop for the children including art, dance, sport and PE.  The 13 students who have been chosen to go to Kenya in July 2010 have been working incredibly hard to raise the £20,000 needed to make the project become a reality. Meeting every Tuesday, Team Kenya have been putting all their entrepreneurial skills to the test and it's certainly paying off.

This amazing trip is offered as part of our new International status and in partnership with Cred Foundation, a charitable organisation dedicated to transforming lives through education.  On all levels the 10 day trip will be a truly life changing experience for everyone involved; it will offer our students an opportunity to go places, meet people and live through situations they would never otherwise encounter.

The skills students will develop on this trip will stay with them forever. In all ways, this will be an unforgettable journey, where memories will be created and lasting friendships forged.

All students are expected to raise £1000, through teamwork, event running and donations. But you don’t need to be going on the trip to get involved! You can be a part of this wonderful project in many ways, from supporting the team to making a donation to the fund.
